LEAP transforms communities through math & science
It is no secret that education in South Africa is in crisis. Millions of children still do not attend schools or receive materials and have little chance to improve their own lives. For this tournament we support LEAP Schools with their vision to transform disadvantaged communities through mathematics and science. Founding Chairman Anthony Galloway will share with us how LEAP provides children the opportunity to access tertiary studies, be successful in their chosen career, and develop as socially responsible citizens. Since opening in January 2004, LEAP has achieved remarkable success with a 95% Grade 12 pass rate in the national senior certificate examinations and 75% of our pre-2010 graduates pursuing tertiary studies. |
INFORMATION FOR GOLFERS
Golfing Attire
Male: Each player must wear a collared golf shirt, trousers or shorts and shoes with non-metal golf spikes on the golf course at all times. For those assisting, golf shoes are optional but flat-soled shoes must be worn. The legs of shorts must have a 5-inch (or more) inseam. Jeans (all denim), bathing trunks, jogging shorts or tennis shorts gym or athletic shorts or cutoffs are not permitted. Shirts without sleeves, t-shirts, tank tops, etc. or player shirts; e.g., football, soccer or fishnet shirts with an open net weave in excess of 3/16-inch are not permitted. All golf shirts shall be tucked in. All headwear must be worn with the bill of the cap facing forward.
Female: Clothing shall be in good taste. Shorts or skirts must be in conformity with USGA guidelines for tournament attire. Bermuda shorts and slacks are permitted. Sleeveless tops must have 5-inch minimum shoulder seam. Jeans (all types), short shorts; t-shirts, halter-tops, bare midriffs and tank tops are not permitted. All shoes that have golf spikes must be non-metal. All golf shirts shall be tucked in.
